Ah Meng the orang utan has recently died at the Singapore Zoo. At the age 48, she was pretty old for an orang utan. Orang utans are an endangered species. Their natural habitats are being destroyed. It would be good if you are aware of the plight of the orang utans. It wouldn't be nice if one of animals closest to humans would be gone in the near future. Ah Meng was very famous and I hope she made an impact in us all.

Global Warming

Global Warming is a serious threat to everything on this planet now. We have ideas to stop it but is it too late? The climate has changed. Many animals have become extinct. How long can the planet take it?
There are other ways to get energy & electricity but is it enough? Is it better or worse than the fuels used right now? Many are not aware that the climate has changed. Maybe if they had watched Live earth then maybe.......never mind.
It is important that we know that many things we do harm the Earth. Hopefully with this thought, we can try to avoid doing most of them, I can't expect people to stop all things like watching TV, because even I do some bad things.
The World can be saved if we all do our part in saving it. We all are able to do, its just whether we want to. A very tough question to answer.
But if we do, we would be able to live here longer.

Waste reduction

We dispose too much waste. Even I dispose some but I am trying to cut down the amount I am throwing away. We throw tons of waste away everyday.

We should cut down mainly on these two.

and , And if you don't know what these two materials are, they are plastic and styrofoam. Not all plastics can be recycled and styrofoam can NEVER be recycled. Do our part as I have to do my part! Reduce our waste!

The Earthquake shook the Island until its reef became exposed. Now they are dying. Its so sad. To know one of the only beautiful reef vanish. What is happening to this world?

The 3Rs

Reuse, Reduce and Recycle. The 3Rs. All of you should know but do you do just that?
Reduce: Consume and throw away less waste
Reuse: Repair things that still can be use and donate them. Its better than recycling because recycling things need to be proccessed before used.
Recycling: This turn otherwise waste into something valuable like paper, glass and metal.
Do you do this?
We should all do this. but is not done by everyone. If you know someone who doesn't, tell that person to. It'll save the Earth and ourselves.

This is another problem. Because of the pet industries, endangered animals are captured to be sold as pets to wealthy people. This has endangered quite a number of animals. These animals should be more protected to prevent this. Discourage people from buying endangered animals.

War had brought devastation to mankind but has also destroyed acres of natural habitats. Due to war, land was cleared to have a clear view of the enemy. The artillery also destroyed the plants. Blown to pieces by the force.

In most countries, many people are trying to smuggle endangered animals to sell them for money. In the end, the populations of these animals decimate. Stop the illegal trade. Don't buy any animals that you might think is endangered. if you do, you might cause a devastating blow to that species. If you find about somebody trading animals illegally, contact the police. You might just save a whole species from extinction.

Leather

Leather is a kind of material we use to make clothes, shoes and other accessories. But this is causing many animals to be killed to make leather. I wish this to stop. Especially for lizards, snakes, alligators and crocodiles. To make leather, some peoplepoach, which is bad. Thousands are killed every year to produce the stuff that we buy. Its cruel to me. To think that if this continues, many animals will perish.

If the buying stops, the killing can too.

Pets are animals that we care and love. We keep them because we want to care for them.

But, some people keep pets but don't take good care of them. we should not neglet them and abuse them.

I keep fishes so I know. We should feed them regularly, almost everyday.Animal abuse is a crime. you could be jailed. Pets keep us company when you're happy or sad. Its sad that people leave them on the streets to fend for themselves just because they are not as cute as they were when they were young. Some dump their turtles into rivers and lakes to find their own food. This displaces the natural enrivonment as some are not native to that country. It could affect the native animals there. If this goes on, what would be the point of having a pet if its just temporary? If you bought a pet, stick with it. Or else don't get one.

Poaching is a serious crime. Its illegal to poach. Please prevent poaching in your country if there is any habitat near you. Poaching is one of the main reasons why many animals are endangered. More and more species of animals are becoming extinct each day. So please do your part in saving them.

The world's environment is being destroyed. We must do something before its too late. The forest is ever being destroyed. The Ozone Layer is depleting and all this is caused by us. We must do something to prevent the doom of the Earth. This would lead to our fall in the end. We can't just destroy Earth and go live on another planet. we can only survive here, On Earth. We have a limited supply of everything. Please remember that we can't go shopping anywhere else. We can' just think of ourselves. The forest are being cut down by us. The only way to protect them is to be more caring to animals and even plants. we must take everything for granted.
